Fall Classes for MBBI

Beginning the weekend after Labor Day, MBBI will offer two classes on Sunday night. Kellen Reid will be teaching “Mining God’s Word: How to Study the Bible,” and Jerry Williams will teach a course called “Dealing with Sin and Learning to Love.”

Mining God’s Word is a twelve week curriculum developed by Bethlehem College and Seminary. During this course, students will learn the basic principles of hermeneutics (interpretation), including reflecting on a text, using cross-references, and considering factors such as context, historical background, and genre. The course does require some homework, but the fruits of your labor will be worth every minute. As you learn to study, you will actually be studying the book of Philippians. You can read more about the class and register by clicking here.

Dealing with Sin and Learning to Love will meet over the course of six weeks throughout the fall. Jerry will address the nature of man and of sin. What is sin, really? How would you respond to the assertion that all sin is at its most basic level a lack of love? How do we learn to love God and love others? These questions, and many more, will be addressed during this course. You can read more about this class and register by clicking here.

If you’ve never taken a class with us before, we hope you’ll make the decision to do so this fall. Feel free to contact me with any questions by emailing pastorjake@fbcmb.org.
